Compound products
Evaluate multi-component products (chocolate plus filling, bars with inclusions, multi-layer dragées) across five levels and measure how well they integrate.
What it is
A compound product is a product made up of several components that are tasted as a whole: chocolate plus filling, bars with inclusions, multi-layer dragées. AreaCacao lets you describe those components inside an existing sample and evaluate them across five levels (appearance, components, integration, aftertaste, and overall rating), and then review the panel's aggregated results, including an integration score.
The key difference from a regular tasting is that you measure not only each component on its own, but also how well they integrate with one another.
The main screen and the results are visible on any plan. Configure compound product and Evaluate 5 levels (creating or submitting an evaluation) require a Pro plan or higher: on the Starter plan you can open the section and review existing results, but when you try to create components or submit an evaluation the system blocks the action.

The main screen
The Compound products screen shows:
- Header with the description: Components of compound samples (chocolate + filling, bars with inclusions, multi-layer dragées). Evaluate each product across 5 levels (appearance, components, integration, aftertaste, overall rating) and review the panel's aggregated results.
- Configure compound product: opens the wizard to define a sample's components (3-step wizard: define components, proportions, review).
- Integration evaluation by sample: for each sample with components, the Evaluate 5 levels and View results actions.
- Component list by sample: each component with its name, sample identifier, proportion (%), order, and date.
If you haven't configured any compound sample yet, you'll see No configurations yet and an invitation to create the first one with the wizard.
The full flow
Configure the components
Associate the components with an existing sample from one of your evaluations. See Configure components.
Evaluate across five levels
With the Evaluate 5 levels action, each panelist completes the sheet for appearance, components, integration, aftertaste, and overall rating. See 5-level evaluation.
Review the results
With the View results action, review the integration score, the overall rating, and the coverage by level. See Integration results.
