Digital evaluation
The taster evaluates from their phone with nothing to install and no account to create.
What it is
Digital evaluation is how a taster (panelist) fills out their tasting sheet from their phone without installing the app and without creating an account. The leader generates and shares a unique link per panelist; the taster opens it, evaluates, and finishes.
Generating digital invitations may depend on your plan; check Plans and pricing to see availability on yours. The panelist who receives the link, on the other hand, needs no plan and no account.
Why it's a differentiator
- Zero friction. There's no app to install and no account to create. Just a link or a QR code.
- Works offline. It's an offline-first PWA: if the workshop is out of coverage, the app saves locally and syncs when the connection returns.
- Traceable. Each evaluation is tied to the panelist the leader assigned to the link.
How it works in practice
The leader creates the tasting and assigns the panel
The leader sets up the tasting in the app and assigns panelists in Step 4 of the wizard (see Create a tasting).
The leader generates and shares the invitations
In the tasting detail, the "Digital evaluation" section lists each panelist. The leader clicks Generate links (creates the links) or Send emails (sends them by email to whoever has an email). For each panelist, Copy, QR, Resend, and Revoke are available.
The panelist evaluates
The panelist opens the link on their phone: a personalized welcome screen, sample selection by 3-digit code or QR, the tasting sheet, and submission. See the Evaluator guide.
If the consent gate is active, the panelist must accept the privacy notice before starting; we explain it in Data consent.
The leader sees progress in real time
The "Digital evaluation" table shows each panelist's progress (samples evaluated out of the total). As the panel advances, the leader gets a real-time notice like "<name> completed a sample".
