Tasting packs
One-off sensory tastings without upgrading to Pro: what a pack includes, what it costs, how it is bought inside the app and where your balance shows.
What they are
The Sensory Analysis module is included in the Pro and Studio plans. If you are on Starter and need occasional tastings — a client validation, one specific batch, a trial before deciding on Pro — tasting packs let you buy them one-off without changing plan.
A pack is a number of tastings, consumed as you create them. While you have balance left, the whole sensory module opens for you: protocols, panelists, digital evaluations, results and dossiers — everything the tasting you bought needs to work end to end, not just the create button.
The packs and their prices
| Pack | Price |
|---|---|
| 5 tastings | $4.99 |
| 10 tastings | $8.99 |
| 25 tastings | $19.99 |
Prices are shown in dollars (the whole application charges in USD) and come from the server catalogue: if the pack prices are missing, the catalogue did not load — the application prefers showing nothing over showing a price it cannot guarantee.
Each pack expires 90 days after purchase. Unused tastings are lost at expiry, so the right pack is the one matching your peak, not the biggest one.
Where to buy them
Three places:
- The plans page (
/pricing), "Tasting packs" section. It requires being signed in: it is the same screen you change plan from. - The public module demo (
/sensory-demo), at the foot of the plans table. Prices show there without an account, because that is the page someone who is not yet a customer can read. - The moment you need it: if you try to create a tasting without a Pro plan and without balance, the screen itself offers the pack alongside the option to upgrade.
Payment is by card, inside the application (Stripe embedded checkout): you never leave for another site. On completing payment the balance is credited immediately; if confirmation were delayed, the application retries and tells you where to check — you are never left with a charge and a bare error.
Where your balance shows
In Settings → Usage (/configurations?tab=usage): how many tastings remain in each pack and when it expires. Consumption is automatic: when you create a tasting your plan does not cover, it is deducted from the active pack closest to expiry.
Worth knowing
- If you already have Pro or Studio you cannot buy them, on purpose: your tastings are unlimited and a pack would never be consumed. The packs section shows you no buy button.
- The server sets the price. The amount Stripe authorises is verified against the catalogue before anything is credited — at purchase and in the backup confirmation too.
- Buying twice by mistake does not credit twice. Each payment session credits exactly once, however many times it is retried.
