Pause your subscription
Pause for 60 days instead of canceling. The option appears inside the cancellation flow and keeps all your content.
If you don't want to cancel entirely but need a break from billing, AreaCacao lets you pause your subscription. It isn't a standalone button: the pause shows up as an alternative inside the cancellation flow.
Where does the pause appear?
Avatar in the sidebar → Settings → Subscription tab → Cancel subscription button → on step 1 of the modal, pick one of these reasons:
- The price doesn't fit my budget
- I'm not using it enough
If your account is eligible to pause, a banner then appears: "Would you rather pause for 60 days instead of canceling?" with the text "Your content and settings stay intact during the pause." and the Pause my plan button.
The pause banner only appears with those two reasons and only if your account can pause. With other reasons (I found another solution, technical issues, another reason) the flow goes straight to cancellation.
How to pause
- Open Settings → Subscription and click Cancel subscription.
- On step 1, choose "The price doesn't fit my budget" or "I'm not using it enough".
- Click Pause my plan in the banner (while it processes, "Pausing...").
- The pause applies instantly and the modal closes. You'll see the confirmation "Subscription paused until [date]."
There's no date picker: the pause duration is set by the system (up to 60 days). Your plan badge switches to "Paused until [date]", and in the Plan and billing block detail you'll also see the text "Paused · ends automatically on [date]".
During the pause
- Your content and settings stay intact. Your recipes, settings, and history are still there.
- No charges are made while the pause lasts.
- The pause ends automatically on the indicated date, or you can resume it sooner.
Resume early
To reactivate your plan at any time, click Resume subscription in Settings → Subscription. See Resume your subscription.
