Personal details, password, and sessions
Change your name, update your password, and sign out of open sessions from the Account tab in Settings.
The Account tab gathers your profile basics: your name, email, password, and open sessions. It lives at https://app.areacacao.com/configurations, Account tab (the one that opens by default).
How do you get there?
Click your avatar at the bottom of the sidebar → Settings → Account tab. You'll see three blocks: Personal details, Password, and Sessions.
Change your name
In Personal details, edit the Name field and click Save. The button stays disabled while nothing has changed or the field is empty. When you save, you'll see the "Name updated" confirmation and the change is reflected in the sidebar right away.
The email is read-only
The Email field appears grayed out and can't be edited. Below it you'll read: "To change your email, contact support." If you need to change your email address, write to us at support@areacacao.com.
Change your password
In the Password block, fill in:
- Current password.
- New password (min. 8 characters).
- Confirm new password.
If you have two-step verification active, a TOTP code (6 digits) field also appears, which you must fill in with the code from your authenticator app.
Click Change password. While it processes, the button shows "Updating...".
When you change your password, all other sessions are signed out automatically: only the session on the device you made the change from stays active. You'll see the confirmation "Password updated. All other sessions were signed out." It's a security measure: if someone had your account open somewhere else, they're kicked out.
Errors you might see
| Message | What it means |
|---|---|
| "Your new password must be at least 8 characters." | The new password is too short. |
| "The confirmation doesn't match." | The new password and its confirmation aren't the same. |
Sign out everywhere
In the Sessions block there's a single button: Sign out everywhere. Below it you'll read: "Sign out everywhere to force a re-login on all devices (including this one)."
When you click it, the app asks for confirmation: "This will sign you out on ALL devices. Continue?". If you accept, all sessions are signed out — including the current one — and you're returned to the sign-in screen.
There's no per-device session list and no option to sign out just one: it's all-or-nothing. For the details on when to use it, see Sessions across multiple devices.
Two-step verification
Two-step verification works at sign-in, but self-activation for your account isn't available yet. We explain it in Two-step verification. The Security tab in Settings only reminds you that the password and sessions are managed from Account.
