Region and language
Set your country, currency, language, time zone, and measurement system so the app speaks your shop's language.
The Regional tab controls how the app shows you quantities, prices, and dates: your country, currency, language, time zone, and measurement system. It lives at https://app.areacacao.com/configurations, on the Regional tab.
How do you get there?
Avatar in the sidebar → Settings → Regional tab. You'll see two blocks: Region and language and Number format.
Region and language
| Field | What it does |

| Country | Your country of operation. Changing it auto-suggests currency and language. |
| Currency | The currency you see prices and costs in (EUR, USD, and more). |
| Language | The interface language. English and Spanish are available; Portuguese and French show as "coming soon" (disabled). When you pick a language, the interface switches instantly and the preference is saved when you click Save changes. |
| Time zone | Used for renewal dates, batches, and logs. |
| Measurement system | Choose between Metric (g, kg, °C) and Imperial (oz, lb, °F). |
| Business type | Not specified · Artisan business · Micro business · Industrial · Student / hobby. It helps us tailor your AreaCacao experience. This is the same detail you're asked during onboarding. |
When you change the Country, the app fills in the suggested currency and language for that region for you. You can adjust them by hand afterward if they don't fit your case.
Whenever you make a change, click Save changes. The button stays disabled until there are changes to save. After saving, you'll see the confirmation "Regional preferences updated."
Number format
Below, you'll see a Number format block that shows, live, how your current setting formats a sample Amount and Currency. It's the best way to confirm the thousands and decimal separators match what you're used to (for example, 12.345,67 in Spanish versus 12,345.67 in English) before you trust the cost numbers.
What about the shop's units?
Weight and volume units, melanger capacity, and the default batch size are not here: they live on the Preferences tab. See Technical preferences.
