Region and language
Set your country, currency, language, time zone, measurement system, and business details so the app speaks the language of your trade.
The Regional tab controls how the app shows you quantities, prices, and dates: your country, currency, language, time zone, and measurement system, plus your business name and type. It lives at https://app.areacacao.com/configurations, on the Regional tab.
How to get there
Avatar in the sidebar → Settings → Regional tab. You'll see three blocks: Region and language, Number format, and Replay the onboarding.
Region and language
| Field | What it does |

| Country | Your country of operation. Changing it auto-suggests currency, language, and measurement system. |
| Currency | The currency you see prices and costs in (EUR, USD, and more). |
| Language | The interface language: Español, English, Français, Português (Brasil), and Português (Portugal). The change is applied and saved instantly, without clicking Save changes (see below). |
| Time zone | Used for renewal dates, batches, and logs. |
| Measurement system | Choose between Metric (g, kg, °C) and Imperial (oz, lb, °F). |
| Business / brand name | It'll appear on your cost breakdowns, spec sheets, and exported documents. Optional. |
| Business type | Not specified · Artisan business · Micro business · Industrial · Student / hobby. It helps us tailor your AreaCacao experience. |
When you change the Country, the app fills in the suggested currency, language, and measurement system for that region (imperial in the United States and Canada, metric everywhere else). You can adjust them by hand afterward if they don't fit your case.
The language saves itself
Below the Language selector, a note says: "Applied and saved instantly. No need to press Save changes: it covers every screen, PDF and export." When you pick another language, the whole interface switches right away, the preference is saved to your account (for your other devices too), and you'll see the confirmation "Regional preferences updated."
Everything else: Save changes
For country, currency, time zone, measurement system, business name, and business type, click Save changes. The button stays disabled until there are changes to save. After saving, you'll see the confirmation "Regional preferences updated."
Number format
Below, you'll see a Number format block that shows, live, how your current setting formats a sample Amount and Currency. It's the best way to confirm the thousands and decimal separators match what you're used to (for example, 12.345,67 in Spanish, 12 345,67 in French, or 12,345.67 in English) before you trust the cost numbers.
Replay the onboarding
The last block, Replay the onboarding, restarts the welcome guide. Click Replay onboarding and the app takes you back to the opening question so you can choose where to start.
