Account and settings

Sign in to AreaCacao with Google or with your email and password, and complete the verification step if your account requires it.

To get into the app, go to https://app.areacacao.com/login. The screen shows the AreaCacao name, the line "Software for chocolate professionals," and the tagline "Know it works before you make it," with a sign-in card below. At the top right there's a button to switch between light and dark mode.

Step by step

  1. Open https://app.areacacao.com/login.
  2. Choose how to sign in:
    • Continue with Google: you sign in with your Google account, no password needed (while it completes you'll see "Signing you in with your Google account...").
    • or with your email: type your Email and your Password (the password field has a button to show or hide what you type) and click Sign in. While it validates, the button shows "Signing in…".
  3. If your account has two-step verification, a second step appears to enter your six-digit code (see below).
  4. Once you're in, the app loads your profile and takes you to the Dashboard (or, if you haven't answered the welcome question yet, to the onboarding).

If you don't have an active plan (for example, because your subscription has ended), you'll see the Welcome back to AreaCacao screen instead, with the plans, a note that your data is kept for at least 12 months, and the Download my recipes (CSV) button. From there you can still open Settings (account, subscription, invoices), the pricing page, and support. As soon as you choose a plan, you're back in, with everything as you left it.

Accounts with two-step verification turned on and administrator accounts can't sign in with Google: you'll see "This account can't sign in with Google (admin or two-step verification). Sign in with your email and password."

The two-step verification step

If your account has two-step verification enabled, after the password you'll see the Two-step verification screen to enter the Authenticator code (6 digits) from your authenticator app and click Verify and continue (while it validates, "Verifying…").

  • Compatible apps: Google Authenticator · 1Password · Authy · Microsoft Authenticator.
  • If you don't have access to your authenticator app, click "Can't access your app? Use a backup code" and enter one of your backup codes. To go back, use "Use authenticator app" or "← Back to sign in".
