Recover your password

Forgot your password? Request a recovery link by email and choose a new one in minutes.

If you can't remember your password, AreaCacao emails you a link to create a new one. The flow starts right at the login screen, at https://app.areacacao.com/login.

Step by step

  1. At https://app.areacacao.com/login, click "Forgot your password?"
  2. The Recover password screen opens: enter your Email and click Send recovery link. While your request is being processed, you'll see a waiting state with an estimated time.
  3. Check your inbox (and spam). You'll receive an email with a link that's valid for 60 minutes.
  4. Open the link: a screen opens where you type your New password (at least 8 characters) and Confirm password.
  5. Click Save new password. You'll see Password updated and, a few seconds later, the app takes you back to the login screen with the banner "Password reset — You can now sign in with your new password."

For security, the recovery link expires after one hour. If you open an expired or already-used link, you'll see the Link invalid or expired screen with the Request a new link button. It takes you to the Forgot your password? screen: enter your email and click Send reset link to get a new one.

Errors when setting the new password

MessageWhat it means
"Password must be at least 8 characters."The new password is too short.
"Passwords don't match."The new password and its confirmation aren't the same.
"The link is invalid or has expired. Request a new reset link."The link no longer works; request another one with Request a new link or from the login screen.

Recovering your password does not turn off two-step verification: if your account has it, you'll still need your code when you sign in.

What if you don't get the email?

  • Check that the email you entered is the one on your account.
  • Look in your spam or promotions folder.
  • Wait a few minutes and request the link again.
  • If it still doesn't arrive, write to support@areacacao.com.
