Private sharing
Invite specific people to view a recipe by email, with an optional message and expiry, and revoke access whenever you want.
What it is
Private sharing lets you invite specific people by email to view a recipe, just like sharing a document in a cloud drive. The recipient finds it in their Shared with me section, can view it and save it to their recipes, but never sees your costs. You control access and can revoke it at any time.
Starter plan and up — sending private invitations requires a paid plan (Starter, Pro, or Studio). Receiving, viewing, and saving a shared recipe is free on any plan, including the free one. The limit applies only to whoever invites, not to whoever receives.

How to invite
Type the emails
In the Invite people tab, type each person's email. You can invite one or several at once. The app validates each email's format before sending.
Add a message (optional)
You can include a note for the recipient; it travels with the email invitation.
Set an expiry (optional)
You can set an expiry date. After that date, access stops working automatically. If you don't set one, access lasts until you revoke it.
Send the invitation
Click send. Each recipient gets an email (in their language) with the recipe name, your name, and a link to view it. The recipe shows up in their Shared with me section.
What the recipient gets
- An email with the invitation.
- The recipe in their Shared with me section.
- Permission to view and save the recipe (read-only; live co-editing is not available).
- Never your per-ingredient costs.
If the recipient doesn't have an account yet, the email explains how to create a free one; when they sign up with that same email, the recipe appears automatically in their Shared with me.
Manage and revoke access
In the same Invite people tab you see the list of invitees with their status. To remove someone's access, click Revoke next to their name: they stop seeing the recipe immediately. Revoking is free and doesn't depend on the plan.
If you re-invite an email you already invited and it's still active, the app warns you it's already shared. If you had revoked it, a new invitation reactivates their access.
