Public recipe page
Publish your recipe on a beautiful page with charts, a quality badge and tips, with costs always kept private.
What it is
The public page is a read-only view of your recipe, hosted at https://app.areacacao.com/r/<id>, that anyone can open without an account. It's both your calling card and a small demo of what AreaCacao does: it shows the recipe with charts and a quality badge, and invites whoever sees it to create their own.
It's free on every plan.
What it shows
- A header with the recipe's origin (Filling, Chocolate, or Artisan recipe), the name, the type, the % cocoa, and the total weight.
- A quality badge, adapted to the type of formula:
- Fillings generated with the Formulator → a score from 0 to 100 with the AI-validated label.
- Chocolates → a Verified formula seal (no number: the formula is deterministic).
- Recipes created by hand or imported → no badge.
- Master chocolatier tips — up to two short tips taken from the observations the Formulator saves with the recipe (hand-made recipes don't have them). They're sanitized automatically: emails, phone numbers, amounts, and mentions of costs, prices, or suppliers are never shown, and neither are tips that give shelf-life or storage periods.
- Charts: Composition by ingredient and Nutrition facts (estimated per 100 g: macro split, energy, fat, saturates, carbohydrate, sugars, protein, fiber, and salt).
- The recipe's Composition, with the quantity and percentage of each ingredient (by part, if the recipe has parts).
- Step-by-step Method.
- Allergens (EU 1169/2011): those it contains and traces.
- Your authorship (Created by…), if you leave it on (see below). Your email is never shown.
Per-ingredient costs never appear on the public page. The page only exposes composition, macros, allergens, the badge and tips: never purchase prices, suppliers, or your recipe's cost.
How to publish it
Open the Public link tab
From the editor, open the ⋮ → Share menu, Public link tab.
Turn on Public recipe
Turn on the Public recipe switch. The app generates the Public link in the form https://app.areacacao.com/r/<id>. Click Copy link to take it with you, or View public page to open it in another tab.
Decide whether to show your authorship
The Show my authorship switch controls whether your name appears as the creator on the page. It comes on: turn it off if you'd rather publish the recipe without your name. Even with it on, your email is never shown.
Unpublish whenever you want
To take the recipe down, go back to the tab and turn off Public recipe. The link stops working instantly: anyone who opens it sees the This page does not exist error page.
If you shared the link with the wrong person, use Generate a new URL (invalidates the old one) in the same tab: after you confirm, it creates a new identifier and the old link stops working.
The page's language
The public page is shown in the language of whoever opens it: the one they chose before in AreaCacao or, if none, the first language of their browser that the app supports. The languages are Spanish, English, French, Brazilian Portuguese, and European Portuguese; if the browser asks for none of them, the page is shown in English. Readers can also switch language with the selector in the top bar (on screens from tablet size up). If you, as the author, preview your link, changing the public page's language does not change your app's language.
The page's own text (headings, buttons, allergens, catalog ingredient names) changes language; what you wrote yourself — the recipe name, the method, the part names — is shown as you wrote it.
Search engines and social previews
The page is built to spread:
- It's indexable by search engines (Google and similar) and listed in AreaCacao's sitemap.
- When you paste the link into social networks or messaging apps, it generates a rich preview (image, title, and description) with AreaCacao branding and the quality badge.
Copy to my recipes (sign-up wall)
Whoever opens your page sees a call to action at the top and another at the end:
- If they already have an account and are signed in, the button is Copy to my recipes: they get an editable copy in their account instantly, named after the recipe followed by (copied from shared), and it opens in the editor.
- If they don't have an account, the buttons are Create a free account (top) and Create yours for free (end). They lead to a soft sign-up wall: they create a free account and, when they come back to the page signed in (within the next 30 minutes), the recipe is copied to their account automatically. Their intent to copy isn't lost along the way.
